Director of Finance
Kenyatta Andrews joined the NMAAM team in January 2020 as Director of Finance and Administration. He is an accounting and finance professional with 20 years of relevant industry experience. Kenyatta is a proud alum of Tuskegee University and the University of Rochester where he earned Accounting and MBA Finance degrees, respectively. He is also a license Certified Public Accountant. Kenyatta honed his professional skills by working for several top tier companies. Most notably, these included PriceWaterhouseCoopers, UBS Painewebber and American Express.
Kenyatta’s work experience has afforded him the opportunity to live in several U.S. cities as well as abroad in the United Kingdom. In 2014, Kenyatta made the tough decision to leave the Financial Services arena and utilize his talents to do mission driven work in the non-profit sector. He moved to Memphis, TN and began working as the Federal Programs Director for the Achievement School District (ASD) – a startup school district that was less than 3 years old. The ASD’s lofty mission is to move the bottom 5% performing schools into the top 25% over a three-year period. He then went on to become a member of a founding member of Campaign for School Equity – a startup organization devoted to ensuring that all children, especially those of color, and families in Tennessee have access to high quality education choices by uniting communities of clergy, parents and students to raise their voices to create effective change
Outside of work, Kenyatta enjoys travel, cycling, and community service. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men of America, and Tuskegee University Alumni Association.
