On the evening of January 20th, Nmaam celebrated another project milestone as we turned on one of our two digital billboards. Friends and family gathered on the roof top of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge for the Illumination Celebration, cheering upon the sight of our name in lights over 5th Avenue. Local news outlets were also on site, providing live coverage and marking the significance of this occasion.

It was no accident that this event was scheduled on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s holiday. Dr. King once said, “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” NMAAM intentionally chose this day to speak to that sentiment, and to issue a call to action to unify under the banner of music. As our sign proclaims, we invite you to be a part of history, and join us as one nation, under a groove. Learn more here: https://nmaam.org/membership/.
